Discover Danish design furniture from Thorup Copenhagen – chairs, tables and room dividers designed by MA. Furniture Designer Kasper Thorup. Each furniture series is built from a small number of materials – steel, solid oak and woven flag halyard in linen or wool – with the construction left visible, so function and form work together.

Chairs, tables and room dividers

Chairs in steel and flag halyard

The Noel chair series pairs a gently sloped steel frame, in brushed or black powder-coated steel, with a seat and back woven in flag halyard. Choose dining chairs with or without armrests for the dining table, bar and counter chairs for the kitchen island, or a lounge chair for the living room.

Solid oak tables

The Mio table series includes round and rectangular dining tables, coffee tables and a stool that doubles as a side table. The rectangular tables come in lengths from 200 to 350 cm, and you can choose oiled or dark-stained oak throughout the series.

Room dividers in wool

Designed for the Oslo Opera House in collaboration with Snøhetta, the Anto room divider combines a brushed stainless-steel frame with naturally sound-absorbing wool flag halyard. It defines a space while keeping it open, in an open-plan home as well as an office or a restaurant, and comes in four sizes.

Materials and craft

Danish joinery and Japanese woodworking

The Mio tables are made from solid oak. Rooted in Danish joinery traditions and inspired by Japanese woodworking, they follow a principle of stacking, with every joint exposed and signature steel detailing.

Linen and Faroese wool

The flag halyard on the Noel chairs is woven from pure natural flax fibre or pure Faroese sheep wool, which gives the seat natural warmth and a tactile surface. The wool models are shown together in the Noel wool edition, and the whole Noel series is certified with the EU Ecolabel.

Seat pads and care

Add a seat pad in semi-aniline leather and linen for extra comfort, and look after your oak table with the wood care kit under furniture care and spare parts.
